Wishing You A Happy Mother's Day

 "Mother's Day"

This is a day when our children want to spend time with us.
Telling us Thank You for everything you do for me.

Some Moms get to sleep in and have their breakfast made and served to them in bed.
Other Moms are taken out to eat breakfast or lunch at a special restaurant.
However some Moms may not get to spend this special day with her children.
They may live far away or maybe even be defending our country to safer times.
What ever your situation maybe, I hope and pray that your Mother's Day is special.
I remember one Mother's Day when all of our children were going out of town.
Each one hesitated to tell me their plans to be away on Mother's Day.
Our oldest daughter, Amanda, found out that her husband's family was having a family reunion in Oklahoma.           Her heart broke when she realized it was Mother's Day weekend.
I told her, don't be silly. It's just a day that someone long ago decided to celebrate their Mom.
We can still get together later.  She smiled and you could see the relief in her face.
Our second daughter, Allison, lives out of town in Gruene, Texas.
She was having to work on Saturday so I excused her with the same story as I did Amanda.
She too was sad but relieved I wasn't upset.
Our son, William was in a pretty serious relationship with a girl he had gone to school with.
She of course wanted to spend Mother's Day with her Mom, who was spending Mother's Day with her Mom, who of course lived out of town.
So as I had told his sisters....Don't be silly.  It's just another day and we can celebrated Mother's Day another time.
He too was sad but very relieved.
So Mother's Day comes and I'm all alone.  Well not really my husband, Bill, was with me.
All day long I keep telling myself  "Don't be silly!  It's okay.  It's just a day that someone chose to tell their Mom how much they appreciated all she had done for them throughout the year. We can always get together another time to celebrate."
It didn't matter how many times I repeated it.
 IT STANK!!!
AND BAD!!!!!
I was weepy all day long.
Bill was so sweet.  He took me to breakfast and took me shopping.
But deep down inside my feelings were crushed.  Silly I know.
When Amanda got back home, she called me.
She knows me so well.
Her first questioned out of her mouth was....What's wrong?
I told her I was fine but she reads me like a book.
And the tears started to flow.
She apologized and said she knew I wasn't going to be okay with all of us being gone.
She was right.
I don't care how old we get  or how old our children are, we always like to have
our children with us on Mother's Day.
Here"s wishing each and everyone of you a
beautiful and blessed Mother's Day.
Spend it just the way you want to.

Blessings,
Betsy
